Martini Recipe
A medium dry martini, lemon peel. Shaken, not stirred.
No other pop culture reference could have ever made the martini more famous than the world renowned secret agent himself: Bond. James Bond. It was through Sir Ian Fleming's novels that the martini had made its niche in the drink recipe facade. After then, “shaken not stirred” is the preparation of choice for this drink recipe.
The martini is now one of the most well-known cocktails. The more common versions were produced with gin and dry white vermouth or the sweet red vermouth variety. However, it is becoming more common now, to substitute vodka for gin. This version is called the vodka martini.
Here are some of the best Martini Drink Recipes:
Bond's Martini: (as described in Ian Fleming's book, Casino Royale)
- 3 oz. Gin
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 0.5oz. Kina Lillet**

Shake all the ingredients until ice cold. Pour into a deep champagne goblet. Add a large thin slice of lemon peel. **If Kina Lillet is not available, substitute it for Vermouth.
The Classic Martini: (as described in David Embury's classic cocktail book The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks)
- 7 parts English Gin
- 1 Part (French) Dry Vermouth

Stir with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, twist lemon peel over the top and serve garnished with an olive, preferably one stuffed with any kind of nut.
Simple Apple Martini:
- 2 trays ice
- ¼ liter vodka
- ½ liter sour apple mix
- ¼ teaspoon sweet vermouth
- 1 granny smith apple cored and sliced

These ingredients make one medium pitcher of appletini. Combine ice, vodka, sour apple mix and vermouth while stirring thoroughly. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice.
